01 About the House
Göbel's Hotel Quellenhof stands on the Brunnenallee, the plane-tree promenade that links Bad Wildungen's spa quarter with the Kurpark. The Waldecker Land around the town — Edersee lake and the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park among it — is a landscape of beech forests, half-timbered villages and old healing springs.
The house itself began in 1873/74 as Villa Schreiber and still wears its Gründerzeit and Art Nouveau features with pride. The Göbel hotelier family took it over in 2004 and developed it into a modern four-star health and conference hotel: some 125 rooms and suites, two apartment villas in the garden, and a medical spa and health centre that give the address its spa-town reputation.
For our guide the decisive fact is the other tenant: the Spielbank Bad Wildungen operates inside the very walls of the Quellenhof — slot machines and roulette islands in rooms with stucco ceilings, and hotel staff serving drinks and snacks right past the machines. Stay the night, and the casino is simply downstairs.

03 The Spielbank Bad Wildungen

The ground the Spielbank has made its own: a slot hall whose devices are linked to weekly jackpot levels that keep climbing until someone wins. Hotel staff keep the service running — drinks and small snacks ordered and delivered right to the machine.

The Spielbank makes a point of hospitality without obligation — you are welcome to simply enjoy the setting and a drink. Entry from 18 years with a valid photo ID, for which a personal entry ticket is issued at the door; smart, elegant attire is expected, tracksuits and sports shorts are not.
Practical note for readers: the casino keeps daily hours from noon to 1 a.m. and closes on a handful of legal holidays each year — including Good Friday, Volkstrauertag, Totensonntag and 24–25 December. Check the current calendar before planning your evening.

A casino evening works best as a set piece of the trip: dinner in the Park-Restaurant, a fixed budget in the pocket, an hour at the roulette island, then the short walk up to bed. That is the register in which this house plays — entertainment with a limit, never a second income. Park-Restaurant
The hotel's main restaurant, serving regional Waldecker classics and international dishes with an eye on Fairtrade and local suppliers, and a terrace out onto the greenery. Breakfast runs to late morning; a four-course candle-light dinner can be booked for the evening.
Hotel Bar “Lifestyle!”
The evening address of the house: cocktails and a relaxed bar crowd, a few steps from the restaurant — and the natural last stop on the way from the casino salon to the lift.
More places in the same building: the historic Wintergarten-Café of 1911 for coffee and cakes (10 a.m.–6 p.m.), the Brunnenterrasse overlooking the promenade, and the steak kitchen of the newly opened El Fuego restaurant.
